International Award for the Best PhD Thesis

The award shall be assigned to a PhD thesis from an Italian university obtained between 2017 and 2019. The topic of the thesis can be in General Botany, Plant Systematics, Environmental and Appied Botany or Pharmaceutical Botany. The thesis shall be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and by the invited speakers of the 115th Congress of the Italian Botanical Society. The winner will receive the award during the Assembly of S.B.I. members to be held during the Congress.
The thesis must be submitted (by S.B.I. members or non-members) via e-mail (sbi@unifi.it) to the Secretariat of the Italian Botanical Society before May 15th, 2020.
The prize consists in free registration to the 115th Congress, a contribution to travel expenses (up to € 200.00), free accomodation, lunches and congress dinner as well as a one-year membership to the Italian Botanical Society. Candidates should NOT pay the registration fee for the Congress until the outcome of the evaluation process is known. Non-winners can then decide whether or not to register.
