Accomodation

Hotels and colleges are divided into two groups:
- Hotels in the city centre (congress venue reachable in 20 minutes by foot).
- Hotels located outside the city, and reachable by car or bus or, as in the case of the Hotel Riz (which of-fers special rates for Congress participants), with a bus service provided by the organizers.
In the list below, for both hotels and colleges, the distance in kilometers from the Central University (venue of the Congress) is indicated. Most of the hotels contacted by the organizers offer accommodation with breakfast at a lower than normal rate until the date indicated in the "notes and services offered." The prices are for two people in a double room and for a single or double room for a single person (DUS). When booking, please men-tion that you are registered at the 110th Congress of the Italian Botanical Society and make sure the price is as specified below.
Finally you can find a list of the best B&Bs in the city and in the immediate vicinity.

The Congress will be held mostly in the central headquarters of the University of Pavia, at the Botanic Garden and in Palazzo San Tommaso, in the historic center of the city, which is (apart from the Botanic Garden) a re-stricted traffic zone and in some areas only pedestrian. The city centre is well served by public transport (bus) and taxi, which will make transfer to and from the Congress venues fairly easy.

By train: from the station of Pavia the Congress venue can be reached on foot (about 15-20 minutes), or with bus n. 3 (stop: Piazza Vittoria). Map 1




By car: if you are arriving from Milan take the motorway (autostrada) A7 Milano-Genova, exit at Bereguardo, take the ring road to Pavia, then take the West motorway (tangenziale Ovest), exit at the Stadium (Stadio). If you are arriving from the south take the Genova-Milano motorway (Autostrada A7), then take the same exit Bereguardo, and follow the same directions. Map 2
