Symposia
First Symposium “MARINE BOTANY”
The sea was the cradle where he formed life and the plants originated. The algae of the sea are the main responsible of the absorption of carbon dioxide on our planet, helping to limit the greenhouse effect. The conference offers an opportunity to take stock of the botanical research directed to the marine environment, in Italy and other countries, while recognizing that some issues can only be touched upon: the diversity of marine plant organisms (benthos and plankton, macro-and micro-), the bio-construction of habitats and relationships producers / consumers, algae and human health and the environment, new applications ....
Second Symposium “BIODIVERSITY ALONG COASTS. SHARED MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT”
The meeting between terrestrial and marine biological diversity promotes and requires great attention to the delicate environmental balance. Integrated Management of the coastal zone (ICZM) requires a strong partnership, not yet fully performed, between different institutions (local authorities, universities and research) as well as between experts from different disciplines. The 106 th Congress SBI is an opportunity to compare and share methods, experiences and knowledge are essential to make choices facing greater sustainability.
Third Symposium “BOTANIC GARDENS AND BIODIVERSITY: THEIR ROLE IN CONSERVATION, RESEARCH AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”
The Botanical Gardens have, since their origins, a key role, albeit often unconscious and not known to all, in the development of the territories in which they were embedded. Currently, their perception by the population has changed or is changing. Increasingly they are seen as centers of promotion of tourism or as suitable places for cultural events. The conference aims to address problems and possible conflicts between "gardening recall " and "scientific farming" and propose solutions that will lead to an excess of a critical time for the Botanical Gardens.
Fourth Symposium “GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT AND ADAPTATIVE ANSWERS IN PLANTS”
Main items explanation
Fifth Symposium “BOTANY CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE HORTICULTURE”
The nursery is an agro-industrial complex and subject to constant changes in cultivation techniques because the entire process must obey the demand for new products. The impact of flowers on the environment is often negative, but begin to spread experiences in which the interaction between the plant science and agricultural ones are better integrated with mutual benefits cognitive, economic and environmental. Do they play an important role in studies on the physiology of flowering, the growth conditions (temperature, light, water, nutrients), the choice of species and cultivars to grow in the light of climate change.
Sixth Symposium “NEW FRONTIERS IN APPLIED MICOLOGY”
Main items explanation
Seventh Symposium “SECONDARY METABOLITES IN OFFICINAL PLANTS CHARACTERIZATION”
Main items explanation
Eighth Symposium “ITALIAN FLORAS. BOTANISTS CONTRIBUTION TO TERRITORI KNOWLEDGE ON THE 150° ITALY UNION ANNIVERSARY”
Botanists, the florist in particular, have always had in mind the limits of the areas of investigation, support for the most part to geographic features (natural) or certain administrative or political boundaries, sometimes anticipating the choices that only later came true. This is the case of the first flower of Italy is still drawn when the unity of our country was far from being an administrative situation. We could say that the corpus of the flower is both "unit"and "federalist", highlights the extraordinary biological richness of Italy, but also the wide diversity of individual areas of local or regional level. On the one hand to the largest scale investigations are needed to provide a basic understanding of states and secondly it also calls for broader and more homogeneous and covers the whole Italian territory. The conference aims to highlight, with examples of ancient and recent, differences and similarities between the regional and national floras, and the importance of fully implementing projects shared between floristic botanists.
