It is with great pleasure that we announce the 11th Conference of the European Committee for Conservation of Bryophytes, which is to be held at the Botanical Garden (HBK) of Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, from 19 to 22 May 2026.
The Conference is organised by the European Committee for Conservation of Bryophytes, in cooperation with the following bodies: the Bryology Working Group of the Italian Botanical Society, the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences (Botany section) and the Botanical Garden (HBK) of the University of Cagliari.The Organising Committee hereby requests your participation in the forthcoming Conference, which will encompass a range of subjects pertaining to the conservation of bryophytes. These subjects will include, but not be limited to, the identification of significant bryophyte areas, the ecological dynamics of bryophyte species, their dispersal patterns and habitats, and the implementation of conservation strategies for threatened species, both in situ and ex situ.
The participants will have the opportunity to visit two areas of bryological interest in Sardinia on two day trips. These sites are of particular value to the study of bryology and are considered to be among the most valuable in Italy.
